ORDINANCE NO. P7179-9 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND., INDIANA, APPROPRIATING MONIES <br /> WITHIN THE ZOO ENDOWMENT FUND TO BE USED <br /> FOR CAPITAL. PROJECTS AND/OR IMPROVEMENTS AT <br /> THE POTAWATOMI ZOO, CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> FOR THE YEAR 1994 <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Common Council of the City of South Bend has determined <br /> it to be in the best interest of the City of South Bend and to be <br /> in the best interest of the City's Park Department to authorize <br /> and appropriate monies dispersed front the Dorothy Shanafelt <br /> Douglas. Trust and deposited into. the Zoo Endowment Fund to be <br /> used for capital improvements-to the: Potawatomi Park Zoo only, <br /> according to the restrictions of the Dorothy Shanafelt Douglas <br /> Trust. The Dorothy Shanafelt Douglas Trust provided a cash <br /> distribution for 1994 totaling approximately $11,450.04. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL. OF TmE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS. FOLLOWS: <br /> Section. I. The Dorothy Shanafelt Douglas Trust monies <br /> deposited into. the Zoo Endowment Fund shall be and hereby are <br /> appropriated and set apart for the capital projects specified <br /> herein below and according to the restrictions of the Trust. <br /> Capital. Improvements, utilizing funds_ from the Dorothy Shanafelt <br /> Douglas Trust: <br /> 1. Construction of a maintenance storage $ 8,800.00 <br /> facility addition of 40 feet extension <br /> including garage doors and tram train <br /> storage <br /> 2. Swan Lake Islands Renovation - drain lake 2,650.00 <br /> and expand islands including many of the <br /> following events: plant willow trees, <br /> rebuild shoreline on both islands with <br /> dirt and gravel, build a primate block <br /> house with concrete floors. <br /> $11,450.00 <br /> Section II.
