South Ben4 Redevelopment Commission
Special eting - August 22, 1980
6. NEW BUSINESS
a. cbntinued...
s. Baumgartner: I think perhaps we
uld receive a lower bid, but I think
e question here is that obviously
. Plaia took the time and had the
pertise to say that the treatment
at you need; is thus, giving us the
tter job for the money. If in
ct, we say that it was fine for
. Plaia to come up with these
ridings and we will now give everyone
se the opportunity to bid, we are
ying that one contractor is better
an somebody else.
. Cira: It is still not a true bid
an someone bids on something and the
her contractors didn't.
Mrs. Baumgartner: In our contract it
states that if in fact there are code
items missed, that they must present
t ose in a form of an addendum, and
note any changes that will bring the
c de up to standard, which this
• imney would. It is basically your
p easure.
Cira: I feel we should rebid
ese contracts.
. Auburn: I believe on the
Cxmingham home it doesn't seem
ght to put that out on a rebid when
P aia was the one who originally noted
die code items that needed rehabilita-
tion and the others did not. It seems
to me that you are penalizing a
contractor who is more thorough by
putting it back out for rebid, at
1 ast on that particular contract. The
o her contractors had the same opportunity
t look at the house and to note the
c de violations.
. Butler: It is less than 100 over
e cost estimate.
