South Bend edevelopment Commission
Special Mee ing - July 25, 1980
6. NEW
h. Mr.INimtz continues...
thar coming in after Mr. Ellison
has solved it all. I feel it would
be helpful for the new person to come
in and get an idea of the problems that
are there. I would suggest and recommend
to the Commissioners that we approve this
arrangement of loaning Mr. Ellison on a
to racy basis to the Housing Authority
to assist them in solving their problems,
but to still remain as our Director with
app ximately 600 of his time spent at
the Housing Authority.
Mayo Parent: I am saying that he spend
75 % lof his time.
Mr. imtz: Also, that eventually we would
be reimbursed for his time. The other
thing is this. As I have told you, I
know that W. Ellison is good and I don't
know how much longer he is going to be
with us. I am sure someone is going to
grab him off one of these days. I think
this is an excellent opportunity for
Mrs. Kolata to assume more responsibility
while Mr. Ellison is out of the office,
becaase when he is out of the office the
questions have to be answered, and decisions
have to be made and I think it is good for
Mrs. Kolata to do this. Are there any
questions the Commissioners may have?
Mr. onaldson: Is it necessary for
Mr. Pllison to spend 750 of his time at
the "ousing Authority and 25% in Redevelopment?
Mayo Parent: It may not be. It depends upon
the irctunstances .
Mr. Ellison: Mr. Donaldson, it is like any
two jobs. You don't know necessarily what
will occur day to day, and you have to
adju t your time accordingly. The estimations
the Mayor gives will probably come about
accu ately.
5
