"S4 (c- q44. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA APPROVING <br /> PARKING RATES FOR PARKING GARAGES <br /> OPERATED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> I .C. 36-9-11-7 authorizes the Board of Public Works to fix the rates and <br /> charges to be collected for parking vehicles in parking facilities owned and <br /> operated by the City and for other use of those parking facilities so as to <br /> promote the maximum use of the facilities by the public in a safe, orderly, <br /> and efficient manner. Such rates fixed by the Board of Public Works are <br /> subject to the approval of the Common Council . The Council has received <br /> Resolution No. 1419-94 of the Board of Public Works, a copy of which is <br /> attached hereto and made a part hereof, which establishes rates for city- <br /> owned parking facilities, both parking garages and parking lots . <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of <br /> South Bend, Indiana as follows : <br /> SECTION I . The following monthly rates shall be charged to vehicles <br /> parked at City operated parking garages : <br /> Rate <br /> (a) Per vehicle, on a month-to-month basis $35 . 00 per mo . <br /> (b) Per vehicle, on a three-year contract $35 . 00 per mo. <br /> (c) Per vehicle, on a five-year contract $35 . 00 per mo. <br /> (d) Group rates on a monthly contract $35 . 00 per mo. <br /> (e) Priority for committing parking spaces within a City operated <br /> parking garage shall be given to vehicles with the longest term parking <br /> contract and the highest monthly rental rate. Commitment of spaces within a <br /> parking garage within a particular rate structure shall be determined based <br /> upon (1) the number of parking spaces committed per single billing; (2) the <br /> length of time the person has committed spaces within that garage; and (3) <br /> the payment experience of the account . <br /> Persons entering into long term agreements for parking may be granted an <br /> option to renew within the discretion of the Board of Public Works or its <br /> designee. <br /> SECTION II . The following hourly rates shall be charged for individual <br /> vehicles parked at City operated parking garages : <br /> (a) From September 1 through April 30 <br /> Hours Rate <br /> 0 to 1 hour $ 1 . 00 <br /> 2 hours $ 1 .50 <br /> 3 hours $ 2 . 00 <br /> 4 hours $ 2 .50 <br />
