As owners of the building
the SHPO must notify us of the application and ask for
our omments. They will be reviewing the application
at t eir meeting on December 11, and I plan to attend
that meeting. I am not going to read the entire
resolution as you have copies before you:. I would just
like to state that the resolution expresses Commission
objection to the addition of the Odd Fellows Building
to tfie West Washington Historic District for the
foll winiz reasons:
a) e National Register application does not provide
sufficient evidence that the Odd Fellows' Building meets
the ational Register criteria found at 36 CFR Part 60.
b) The justification for National Register District
boon ary changes pursuant to 36 CFR Part 60.16 (a) (2)
has ot been met.
c) Me fact that the Odd Fellows Building is fifty (50)
years old is not sufficient reason for its nomination for
inclusion in the West Washington Historic District.
Mr. Rob inson made a motion to approve Resolution No. 599,
supp rting the objection of the addition of the Odd
Fell ws Building to the West Washington Historic District,
seco ded by Mr. Donaldson, and the motion was unanimously
Mr. llison: I might mention that I expect to meet with
the eeper of the Register on or about January 7, 1980, in
Washington, D. C. to discuss the Odd Fellows Building.
Mr. imtz: I'm also planning on accompanying Mr. Ellison
on s meeting with the Keeper.
Mr. imtz: Mr. Brademas, I understand that you would like
to ke a few comments at this time.
The Chair recognized Mr. T.
