South Bend edevelopment Commission
Regular Mee ing - October 19, 1979
6. NEW BUSINESS
d. continued...
Ms. Auburn made a motion to approve Resolution #597
thanking RAHN Properties II for its contribution to
the revitalization of downtown South Bend, seconded
by r. Donaldson and the motion was unanimously
carried.
7. PROGRES$ REPORTS
Mr. Ell son: The staff has not prepared progress reports,
althougi we did want to indicate at this juncture, that
Commiss on President F. Jay Nimtz, is in Memorial Hospital.
His spi its appear to be high, but he also seems to be
extreme y disappointed at being unable to take part in
the cer monies today (First Bank /Rahn Properties II kick
off) .
Mr. Rob nson: Thank you Mr. Ellison. Are there any
questio s to be brought before the Commission from the
press o public?
Mr. Anderson: Mr. Ellison, will you be able to make a
decision on the Odd Fellows Building at your next
meeting now that you will.be receiving some advice from
Mr. Jan otta?
Mr. Ell son: The staff has no intention of delaying the
analysis of the Odd Fellows Building. If we are able to
have sufficient information to report to the Commission
by the next meeting, we will do so, if we do not have
suffici nt information to report, then we will not. We
have to take whatever time is necessary to assure that
the Com ission has full information, all necessary
informs ion, prior to the time that we make a recom-
mendati n on it.
Mr. But er I have brought a signed lease to the Commission
(lease agreement between the Department of Redevelopment,
City of South Bend, and first Bank & Trust and Rahn Proper-
ties II). It probably has been recorded by this point this
morning I also have the security called for in the lease
agreeme t, which is a demand note of $10,000 running
against the partnership and the partners with absolute
recours .
10
DISCUSSIONS CON -
CERNING MR. NIMTZ'S
HEALTH AND THE
DEPARTMENT'S WELL
WISHES
MR. BUTLER'S
COMMENTS ON THE
LEASE AGREEMENTS
WITH FIRST BANK &
TRUST AND RAHN
PROPERTIES II
