February 14, 1902, <br />VACATION RESOLUTION NO. 9. <br />Resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana: That <br />it is desirable to vacate the following:Beginning at a stake set in the west one- eight <br />section line of Section (1) one, Township Thirty -Seven (37) North, Range Two (2) East of <br />Second Principal Meridian, at a point six hundred fifteen and one-half (615-1/12) feet <br />North of a stone set for the west one -eight corner in the east and west center line of <br />said section one. Said point being in the south line of Angella Street, formerly Leeper <br />Avenue, as located by the City Commossioners in 1895 and recorded in plat book number 6, <br />page 121, records of St. Joseph County Indiana; and running thence east at right angles <br />to said one -eight section line, thirty (30) feet, thence -north eight and nine -tenths (8.9) <br />feet,thence north 78 degrees 39 minutes west thirty and fifty-four hundreths (30.54) <br />feet, to one -eight section line, thence south on one -eight section line fourteen and nine <br />tenths (14.9) feet to beginning, the property of Anne M. Studebaker. Also beginning at <br />the same point as in the description, of tract number one, and running thence north on <br />one -eight section line fourteen and nine tenths (14.9) feet, thence north 78 degrees 39 <br />minutes west, eight and seventy-six hundreths (8.76) feet, thence south 84 degrees 06 <br />minutes west, one hundred sixty-one and six tenths (161.6) feet to a point thirty (30) <br />feet east and seventeen and one -sixth (17-1/6) feet north of the centre of the north end <br />of Leeper Bridge, thence east one hundred sixty-nine and four tenths (169.4) feet to <br />beginning, the property of Samuel Leeper. Also beginning at a point sixty-six (66) feet <br />north and one hundred seventy-four and six tenths (174.6) feet west of the beginning <br />point in the description of tract number one, and running thence west fifty-seven and <br />nine -tenths (57.9) feet, thence south six (6) feet, thence north 84 degrees .06 minutes <br />east fifty-eight and two -tenths (58.2) feet to place of beginning, the property of Samuel <br />Leeper. The following property may be injuriously or beneficially effected by such <br />vacation: All that land lying between the south line of Howard street and the St. Joseph <br />river and the west eighth section line of Section One, Township 37 North, Range 2 East <br />and a line drawm parallel to said eighth section line and 150 feet therefrom, the pro- <br />S. W. 1/4 of the <br />perty of Anne M. Studebaker; also all that part of theAN. W. 1/4 of Section 1 Tp.37 N. <br />Range 2 E. lying adjacent to and abutting Angella Street. Notice of this resolution <br />shall be published on the 15th day of February and on the 23rd day of February 1902, in <br />the South Bend Daily Tribune. This Board, at its office in the City Hall on the 18th <br />day of March 1902 at 7:15 P. M. will hear and receive remonstrances from all persons <br />interested in or affected by these proceedings. <br />
