September, 26. 1901. E. R. Wills notified that the board would be pleased to negotiate a contract for the purchase of the Campeau property and the erection of afire station for the City,: - Further proceedings under Vacation Resolution No.4 for the vacation of part of Saint Joseph Street having been dropped, and the Board being Of the opinion that such vacation is unnecessary, it is accordingly ordered that the action taken by the Board on July 6, 1901, at 7:15 P. M. be and hereby is recinded. Assessment rolls and final estimates filed for the following improvements:, The brick pavement on Navarre street from Michigan street to Portage Avenue, under Improve- ment Resolution No. 11; ' The cement curb on Division street from Laurel street to Olive Street, under Improvement Resolution No. 31; The cobble stone and curh on North Hill street from Cedar street to South Bend Avenue, under Improvement Resolution No. 40•. Resolved that notices as to the amount of assessments be published in the South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times for six successive days beginning on the 27th day of September 1901, stating that this Board will give a hearing as to the amount of assessments at its office in the City Hall on the 8th day of October 1901 at 7:15 P. M. Resolved further that the entire work under the contracts for the above"improvements be accepted and approved and the final estimates therefor allowed. Notice of this res- olution shall be published in the South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times on the 27th day of September 1901, stating that this Board will give a hearing upon such estimates at its office in the Cit; Hall on the 8th day of October 1901 at 7*15 P. M. Clerk instructed to obtain the signatures of Christian Soens, and Mary E. Barrett to a dedication of a strip of ground along the west bank of the Saint Joseph river between Marion street and Leeper bridge for park and boulevard purposes, and for the extension of Marion street to the river. Permission granted to Robert, Hoban and Roach to use fire hydrants and hose for flooding the north Michigan street fill near Leeper bridge. President.
