William.Drapier having defaulted in the contract for water connections on North Michigan street, the . contract for the same was let to B. Thoma,3 Beardsley, nextbidder, at $20.65 each complete connection on the East side of the. street and $16.45 on the west side. Engineer instructed to report a grade for High street from Midway street to Sample street, also to prepare specifications for grading said street. On petition of all the property owners and by consent of the contract®r, C. H. Defrees, the specifications for the Lafayette street brick pavement improvement under Imp- rovement Resolution No-4 are changed and sand filler instead of pitch shall be used. Contracts signed for the following improvements:- Calvert H. Defrees for Napier street under Improvement Resolution No. 30. Harry N. Barnes for Test Division street, under Improvement -Resolution No 31 Wm McSherry for "D" street, under Improvement Resolution'No. 28 Ransom Z. Snell for west Washington street under Improvement Resolution No. 34 and for Laurel street, under Improvement Resolution No. 35 Contract for the Madison street sewer under Improvement Resolution No. 33 award- ed to James Nelson. Assessment rolls and final estimates filed for the following improvements:lst• Frances street, under Improvement Resolution No. 16 2Nd, Eddy street, under prior procee- ��M the Council. 3rd, Singer sewer, on Circle avenue, College and Division streets• on street brick pavement, under prior proceedings of the Council. 5th, Water connections on West Navarre street under prior proceedings of the Council. Resolved that notices as to the amount of assessments be published in the South Bend Daily Tribune and in the South Bend Daily Times for six successive days beginning on the 2nd day of Aug- ust, 1901, stating that this board will give a hearing as to the amount of assessments on the 13th day of August, 1901, at 7:15 P. M. Resolved further that the entire work under the contracts for the above improvements be accepted and approved and the final estimates therefor allowed. Ndtice of this resolution shall be published in the South Bend Daily Tr- ibune and in the South Bend Daily Times on the 2nd day of August, 1901, stating that this board will give a hearing on this resolution on the 13th day of August, 1901, at 7:15 P.M.
