CITY OF SOUTHBEND COMMUNITY INVESTMENT Memorandum January 21, 2020 TO: Board of Public Works FROM: Andrew Netter, Department of Community Investment SUBJECT: Rejection of all bids for 901 E. Miner St., South Bend, IN 46617 On Thursday, December 17, 2019, the Board of Public Works opened proposals to purchase 901 E. Miner St., South Bend, IN 46617. The Board of Public Works received two proposals to purchase, one from Thomas Underly of 50960 Redwood Rd., South Bend, IN 46628 and one from Kenneth L. Kent d.b.a. DCBA, LLC. of 15398 Roscommon Ln., Granger, IN 46530. The Department of Community Investment has an upcoming planning process that will conduct a comprehensive review of future land use in the Northeast Neighborhood, where 901 E. Miner is located. This process is projected to begin in mid -to -late 2020 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2020. Until this process is completed, the City wishes to maintain ownership of all City held property in the Northeast Neighborhood. In the proposal packet, the City stated that it reserved the right to reject any and all bids. As such, the City wishes to reject all bids for 901 E. Miner St. Once the planning process is completed for the Northeast Neighborhood, the City will review its decision on property disposition for 901 E. Miner St. r DANIEI.J.
