NEW BUS NESS (Continued)
Mr. Harcus He has received partial payments from some of
the homes that were completed, but we are having reserved
soma of the money which was due to him, and we also have
his performance bond.
Mr. Wiggins: Just one other question, since you gave him
unt'1 October 20th, to get the job done, has there been
any activity?
Mr. Harcus: Yes, he has been working very hard, but, he
wil not meet the deadline. I am soliciting
you support by asking that we have the contract cancelled,
and have other contractors finish the work.
Mr.lRobinson: I feel he should receive some kind of cash
pen lty so that it will break him of the habit.
Mr. Harcus: We have also advised every homeowner, in writing,
that the Redevelopment Commission, and the Bureau of Housing
will not be responsible if they permit Slatile to do any work
after 5 p.m. this afternoon.
Mr. Robinson made a motion that the Commission ratify and
confirm the cancellation of Contract SECD /2 /PR /CS -11, with
Sla ile Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc., due to the incompletion
of work in the allotted time allowed, seconded by Mr. Wiggins,
and the motion was unanimously carried.
7. PROGRES$ REPORTS
Mr. Ellison: I have just two items. One is that the Board of
Public Works recently approved an agreement with the City and
C. F. Murphy of Chicago, to do a conceptual design for the
Urban Development Action Grant Project. Secondly, I want to
repeat briefly what was announced two weeks ago, with respect
to the entury Mall Project, that six of eighteen parcels have
been ac uired and that is the extent of the project at this
time.
Mr.
to
to
Nim z: The Chair, at this time, will ask Mr. Chapleau
give us a report on the progress of the lawsuit, in regards
the appeal.
-12-
BOARD OF PUBLIC
WORKS' APPROVAL
OF AGREEMENT
WITH CITY &
C.F.
