4. <br />COMMUNICATIONS, Continued <br />Mr. Brownell explained that we had sent the four pages showing Plat <br />of River Bend Addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, <br />Indiana, with dedication of streets and alleys in the Eastern part <br />of the Downtown Project—with letter dated June 1, 1977. Mr. Butler <br />explained that this insurance company is involved because they actually <br />own the St. Joseph Bank Building. <br />Mr. Nimtz inquired whether the street dedication is all cleaned up now.. <br />and Mr. Brownell replied that it is except for one thing. He has <br />asked Clyde Williams to.make copies of this thing so that we will have <br />copies here and there will be one for each of the Abstract companies <br />and the Board of Works. Mr. Brownell also stated he has a receipt for <br />th originals of the dedication from Clyde Williams and when they <br />have finished copying them, the originals will be returned to this <br />o fice for return to the Board of Works. <br />5. OL <br />a. <br />b. <br />C. <br />BUSINESS <br />Mr. Brownell reported that the Deed to property now occupied by Re- recorded <br />the Whitcomb & Keller Building was re- recorded on 4- 13 -77, after corrected <br />corrections were made in the legal description. This matter is Deed - Whit <br />for information update and requires no action, letter placed on file. Comb & <br />Keller Bldg <br />Judgment in the case of The Philadelphia, Inc. etal vs City of South <br />Bend Department of Redevelopment, Cause No. 2051, in the sum of JUDGMENT - <br />2,789.80, in full and final.settlement of all claims. C. Wayne PHILA. INC. <br />Brownell stated that in this connection we had to talk with the vs <br />HUD office and get their authorization so that this claim could CITY OF S.B <br />be paid and after getting their approval in letter of May 23, DEPT. REDEV <br />1977, signed by Stephen J. Havens, Director of Planning & Development FINAL <br />Division (Mr. Brownell then read this letter) we prepared a check $2,789.80 <br />which the Commission authorized, for the above amount and forwarded <br />it with cover letter to Mr. George Patton for delivery. <br />The Chair inquired as to whether this is all cleaned up - Mr. <br />Patton indicated that the check was delivered to Mr. Cholis and <br />he will release the judgment, etc. The Chair also commended Mr. <br />Patton and Mr. Chapleau on the.good job they did on this case. <br />Relocation claim of Indiana & Michigan Electric Company in the amount IND & MI <br />of 319,934.00 Mr. Brownell indicated we have a release and settle- ELEC. CO. <br />ment of claim signed by Vice President R. C. Menge and attested by RELOC. <br />A. H. Stuhlman, Asst. Secretary of I & M, releasing all claims and CLAIM <br />acknowledging receipt of the above relocation payment. Mr. Brownell $319,934. <br />also stated that we have sent a letter to Mr. Havens at HUD - which PAID <br />he read in its entirety and indicated that he believes this completes <br />this matter. <br />The Chair indicated that we have previously had discussions regard- <br />ing getting credit from HUD for this payment making the check <br />joint, etc., how was that resolved? <br />-- 3 <br />
