BILL NO.ORDINANCE NO. g56q -9 q <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA,AMENDING CHAPTER 2,ARTICLE 6, SECTION 2-84.7 (b) OF THE <br /> SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE ADDRESSING TAX ABATEMENT FEES <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> On December 28, 1992, the Common Council passed Ordinance No. 8333-92 <br /> which established a "Schedule of Fees" which must be paid when filing a petition for real <br /> or personal property tax abatement consideration. <br /> The following ordinance would dedicate all of such fees except the City Clerk's fee <br /> of$250.00 to the Department of Community and Economic Development to help offset the <br /> significant amount of staff time spent on the review and processing of petitions for tax <br /> abatement and the administration of the City's tax abatement program. <br /> It is believed that this ordinance is in the best interests of the City. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br /> Section I. Chapter 2, Article 6, Section 2-84.7 (b) of the South Bend Municipal <br /> Code is amended by adding the following to the end of the last paragraph: <br /> Fees collected under this Section shall be deposited as follows: <br /> Clerk's Office fee of$ 250.00 to the General Fund: and <br /> All other fees to Fund 212 to be used by the Department of Community and <br /> Economic Development. <br /> section II. All fees collected pursuant to the current provisions of Chapter 2, <br /> Article 6, Section 2-84.7 (b) of the South Bend Municipal Code in calendar year 1994, <br /> shall be deposited as set forth in Section I of this ordinance. <br /> ,Section III, This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br /> passage by the Common Council , approval by the Mayor and legal publication. <br /> �L/L <br /> Z./ / <br /> - of the omm �'.uncil <br />
