6. NSW BUSINESS (Cont'd)
Mr. Brownell referred to the quadrant meeting at Riley High
School last evening and the Southeast Neighborhood PAC Committee
made a very fine report and discussed the park we cleared for
them and the houses we rehabilitated and RENEW, Inc., a non-
profit organization, has been rehabilitating and refurbishing
some houses themselves, and that all of these things ` together
have made the neibhgorhood have a new awareness and attempt
to build it up. This is the attitude in the neighborhood.
Mr. Brownell read this memorandum in its entirety, and the
specifications called for the installation of 1/4" underlayment
and tile in the hallway, bedroom #1, and bedroom #2. The home-
owner has requested that these floors be refinished. Slatile
Roofing has agreed to refinish the floor for the same price
listed on their bid for the installation of tile; therefore,
staff recommends the change order for approval.
The Chair advised that some of these contractors are very co-
operative in making these requested changes, made at the request
of the homeowner. Some of the contractors cooperate and others
just don't want to do it and will not get into this type of work
