<br />Mr. Brownell advised that we reduced the amount of work they 
<br />were to do, which was done prior to the awarding of the con- 
<br />tract by the South Bend Park Department and the Board of 
<br />Public Works. This reduction has been agreed to by Nautilus 
<br />and was requested through our consulting engineer, Lawson 
<br />Associates. The existing items of paving were removed, which 
<br />amounted to $8,610.00; sidewalk removed, which amounted to 
<br />$2,037.50, or a total decrease of $1.0,647.50 to their con- 
<br />tract.

<br />Mr. Mark S. Davis, Chief Inspector, Southeast Project E -7, 
<br />Bureau of Housing, advised that on July 18th, he had in- 
<br />structed Mr. Richard Madison, Madison Builders, Inc., to 
<br />proceed with the emergency plumbing and carpentry work as 
<br />outlined in the Change Order. Upon completing the plumbing 
<br />work listed on the.contract, the plumber filled the tub with 
<br />water and the water began leaking from under the tub. As 
<br />this was a second -floor bathroom, the water was threatening 
<br />to damage the first floor closet ceiling. In addition, the 
<br />hazard of waste water contaminating food and drawing insects 
<br />needed to be corrected immediately. 
<br />Motion for the approval of Change Order No. 2 to Rehabilita- 
<br />tion Contract No. 5, for an increase in contract amount of 
<br />$133.00, with Madison Builders, Inc., was made by Mr. Donald- 
<br />son, seconded by Mr. Cira and carried. C.O. subject to 
<br />Legal Counsel approval. Amended contract total: $4,814.00.
