RIVERI BEND P <br />ZA COMMITTEE MINUTES Page 2 <br />Mr. King submitted, that Mayor Miller recently assured him that <br />the f nds are available for completion of the Plaza. <br />No su port'was given to Mr. Soltesz' motion, and a new motion <br />was presented by Mr.-Russell that the Committee recommend the <br />immediate adoption of Plan D of the presented alternatives, to <br />include two (2) stages 30' -x 30', which would be controlled by <br />hydra lic lifts. <br />Mr. Schrager seconded the motion and the Committee passed the <br />motion unanimously. <br />COMMZ TEE <br />REPOR S No Standing Committee reports were submitted to the <br />meeting. <br />BICEN <br />TTENNIAL: <br />Mrs..Stiver, Chairman, reported that everything is <br />going well, and that more than one hundred twenty <br />five (125) people are currently involved in the plans <br />of the Festival. <br />OLD <br />BU.SIN SS <br />Mr. King asked Mr. Bloomquist for any report or comment <br />he might wish to submit to the Committee, regarding <br />the building plans of the First Bank and Trust Co. <br />Mr. Bloomquist responded that the'Bank is giving the <br />project considerable priority, as is, Mr. Imus of the <br />Development Control Corporation, and when Mr. Imus <br />returns from his business in Florida, Mr. Bloomquist <br />expects the projected plans will gain considerable <br />momentum. <br />Mr. Getzinger spoke of the frustration caused by the <br />lack of communication regarding building plans on the <br />Plaza. <br />Mr. Schrager added that considerable difficulty resulted <br />from the announcement made to the public on April 25th., <br />because of certain assumptions included in the projected <br />plans for a super - block. Mr. Bloomquist agreed that <br />this situation was unfortunate, but notintentional, because <br />the plans were not presented to the public as a committed <br />situation, only as, a possibility. <br />Mr. Bloomquist added that he believed an improvement <br />can be expected regarding the building plans of!_the <br />First Bank and Trust, mostly because the Bank is locally <br />oriented, with responsibilities and involvement with the <br />City of South Bend. <br />Mr. Schrager commented that Mr. Bloomquist's attitude <br />favoring open communication, was a welcome change, and <br />would encourage cooperation toward the goal of completion <br />of the Plaza. <br />
