2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES (Cont'd
Ms Derbeck said regardless of which, that Terry Miller made comments in
bo . h .
Mr. C. Wayne Brownell, Executive Director, said the Chair was requesting
approval of the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of April 18, and Terry
Miller's comments are shown in the April 18, 1975, Minutes, noted as
Item 10, Block 6 Development, R -66, pages 12 through 15.
The Chair requested extra copies of the Minutes of April 18 be brought
in the meeting for discussion, for the Commissioners and News Media,
and this was done.
Mr. Brownell said the Commission was about to approve the Minutes of
the Regular Meeting of April 18 and if Ms. Derbeck has any corrections
for that meeting? Ms. Derbeck replied, "I have none for the 18th. The
180 is okay; I am talking about the Minutes of the 29th meeting." Mr.
Brownell said we are talking about the 18th, and that we should take
that one first.
Preident Nimtz said:
Ms.
On Miller's remarks, there are four (4) pages of Terry Miller's
remarks in the Minutes of the April 18th meeting.
Of course... I'd say this to everybody present... it's impossible
to have verbatim Minutes of these meetings. Helen is good,
and I think she is studying to be a court reporter, but, for
the record, we are just not equipped - -or available - -to have
verbatim Minutes of these meetings, and we try to do the best
on digest. But, I think your comments might be apropos for the
29th Minutes. We will get into that on the Minutes of the
29th. But, I think, on the 18th Minutes, that everything is
there. Are there any comments from the Commissioners?
lissioner Wiggins:
Well, I agree with what you say. I think that we ought to be
completely fair and objective about this. We operate under
the Roberts Rules of Order, and it's required that we - -that
the minutes -- reflect the actions that are proposed and are taken,
and, I believe, that they do that. It's not required that the
Minutes be a verbatim account of everything that's said, and
everything that's happened to that degree. As long as the
Minutes reflect reasonable accuracy as to what did transpire,
in terms of the actions that were taken, is all that is neces-
sary.
Derbeck:
Well, I don't think they should be verbatim either, but perhaps
things need to be referred to, and that as our City Councilman,
Terry Miller has requested information to his questions
- 3 -
