ORDINANCE NO. g6oq--96 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $235,000 FROM <br /> EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUND <br /> (FUND #288) FOR THE REHABILITATION OF <br /> EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION OF EXHAUST SYSTEMS <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> It has become necessary to defray expenses within the <br /> emergency medical service capital improvement budget with an <br /> appropriation of Two Hundred Thirty-five Thousand Dollars <br /> ($235, 000 . 00) from Emergency Medical Services Capital Improvement <br /> Fund (Fund #288) in order to fund the installation of exhaust <br /> sytems in all City fire stations to meet occupational safety <br /> standards and the refurbishing of Snorkel #1, Quint #3, Quint #7, <br /> and Engine #9 . <br /> The City has continued to generate increased revenue from <br /> the emergency medical services bureau to support the capital <br /> needs of both the Fire Department and its emergency medical <br /> services operations . This appropriation has been included in the <br /> department' s projections, as well as its five-year Capital <br /> Improvement plan. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section I . The following sum of money is hereby <br /> appropriated and ordered set apart from Emergency Medical <br /> Services Capital Improvement Fund (Fund #288) for the items set <br /> forth below: <br /> ACCOUNT NO.
