5. OLD BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />In Commission meeting of October 18, 1974, Mr. L. Kent Wilcox, <br />Acting Director of the Department of Redevelopment at the <br />time, had advised the Sign Committee had met and approved the <br />sign to be in conformity with the sign regulations, with the <br />staff negotiating with Dainty Maid Bake Shop to prorate the <br />costs for installing the sign 30 higher. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and carried, <br />the prorate amount the Department of Redevelopment will pay <br />to.reinstall the Dainty Maid Bake Shop sign 30" higher is: <br />$540.00. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />a. Recommendations of Project Indiana E -7 Advisory Committee <br />on bids received: Mr. C. Wayne Brownell read the corres- <br />pondence from Mr. Keith P. Crighton, Director, Bureau of <br />Housing, advising recommendations made by the E -7 Advisory <br />Committee, on the following contracts <br />CONTRACT NO. 6: <br />The recommendation is the Redevelopment Commission <br />reject all the bids received for the structure lo- <br />cated at 310 -312 East Paris Street, due to occupancy <br />violations relative to sleeping space requirements <br />specified by the minimum housing code for the City <br />of South Bend. The low bidder was Madison Builders, <br />Inc., in bid amount of $5,000.00. This is a duplex <br />unit and the owner will change and move into the <br />other half of the duplex which has a larger sleeping <br />room, and is requesting that portion of the duplex <br />be rehabilitated. This would be reinspected for re- <br />advertisement in the future. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney <br />and carried, all bids received on Contract No. 6, <br />in Project E -7, be rejected as recommended by the <br />E -7 Advisory Committee. <br />CONTRACT NO. 9: <br />The recommendation is the Redevelopment Commission <br />cancel the award of Contract No. 9, in Commission <br />Meeting of December 13, 1974, as awarded to Madison <br />Builders, in bid amount of $5,000.00. This structure, <br />located at 1413 Marietta Street, was totally destroyed <br />by a recent fire at that location. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney <br />and carried, Contract No. 9, awarded in Commission <br />Meeting of December 13, 1974, to Madison Builders, <br />is cancelled due to the fire, as recommended by the <br />E -7 Advisory Committee. <br />0 <br />CONTRACT NO. 6 <br />BIDS REJECTED, <br />PROJECT E -7 <br />CONTRACT NO. 9 <br />AWARD CANCELLED, <br />PROJECT E -7 <br />
