6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />In letter dated November 27, 1974, to the Redevelop- <br />ment Commission, Mr. Wilcox reminded the Commissioners <br />his resignation is effective December 31, 1974, and. <br />that it will be necessary for them to take action at <br />the December 13, 19749 meeting to name a replacement- - <br />either Acting or Permanent. <br />Appointment of Acting and /or Executive Director for <br />the Department of Redevelopment <br />President Nimtz said to the Commissioners that they <br />have all been apprised of the previous notice of <br />the letter received this week, from Mr. L. Kent <br />Wilcox, Acting Executive Director, reminding the <br />Commissioners that he is resigning and leaving us, <br />per his agreement, effective December 31, 1974, and <br />it is necessary we have someone to steer the short <br />year during the interim. What do I hear from the <br />Commissioners? We now have an Acting Executive <br />Director. The replacement period is from January <br />1, 1975 until the end of June, 1975. <br />Commissioner Wiggins said, "Inasmuch as Wayne has <br />been doing the job from day -to -day, that we are <br />just as well off in the interests of the situation <br />having Wayne to continue and with a small title <br />change." <br />Commissioner Chenney asked, "What is the title <br />change ?" <br />Commissioner Wiggins requested Mr. Brownell's <br />title be changed from "Acting Deputy Director" <br />to "Acting Director." The Commissioners indi- <br />vidually stated their vote: "Acting Director" <br />unanimously cast. <br />Commissioner Wiggins then made the motion to <br />appoint Mr. C. Wayne Brownell, as the Acting Direc- <br />tor, from January 1, 1975 until June 30, 1975. The <br />motion was seconded by Reverend Williams, with each <br />Commissioner again separately stating his vote: <br />"Acting Director." The Chair said, "Motion carried. <br />Amendment to Commission By -Laws for time of Redevelop - <br />ment Commission Meetings ......................... <br />President Nimtz advised that some of the members of <br />the Commission suggested that we meet at 10:00 a.m., <br />in lieu of the 10:30 a.m., public meeting, and a <br />separate Executive Session at 9:30 a.m., and have <br />all items in one meeting. <br />Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney <br />- 13 - <br />MR.
