6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd In letter dated November 27, 1974, to the Redevelop- ment Commission, Mr. Wilcox reminded the Commissioners his resignation is effective December 31, 1974, and. that it will be necessary for them to take action at the December 13, 19749 meeting to name a replacement- - either Acting or Permanent. Appointment of Acting and /or Executive Director for the Department of Redevelopment President Nimtz said to the Commissioners that they have all been apprised of the previous notice of the letter received this week, from Mr. L. Kent Wilcox, Acting Executive Director, reminding the Commissioners that he is resigning and leaving us, per his agreement, effective December 31, 1974, and it is necessary we have someone to steer the short year during the interim. What do I hear from the Commissioners? We now have an Acting Executive Director. The replacement period is from January 1, 1975 until the end of June, 1975. Commissioner Wiggins said, "Inasmuch as Wayne has been doing the job from day -to -day, that we are just as well off in the interests of the situation having Wayne to continue and with a small title change." Commissioner Chenney asked, "What is the title change ?" Commissioner Wiggins requested Mr. Brownell's title be changed from "Acting Deputy Director" to "Acting Director." The Commissioners indi- vidually stated their vote: "Acting Director" unanimously cast. Commissioner Wiggins then made the motion to appoint Mr. C. Wayne Brownell, as the Acting Direc- tor, from January 1, 1975 until June 30, 1975. The motion was seconded by Reverend Williams, with each Commissioner again separately stating his vote: "Acting Director." The Chair said, "Motion carried. Amendment to Commission By -Laws for time of Redevelop - ment Commission Meetings ......................... President Nimtz advised that some of the members of the Commission suggested that we meet at 10:00 a.m., in lieu of the 10:30 a.m., public meeting, and a separate Executive Session at 9:30 a.m., and have all items in one meeting. Motion was made by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney - 13 - MR. C.
