Sweeney, Jr. <br />Commission Legal Counsel <br />1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: <br />1200 County -City Building <br />227 W. Jefferson Boulevard <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Mr. Charles A. Sweeney, Commission Legal Counsel, called the meeting <br />to order. <br />2. ICOMMISSIONER, F. JAY NIMTZ,'SWORN IN BY CITY CLERK: <br />In the absence of the President of the Redevelopment Commission, Mr. <br />Sweeney requested one act be performed - -the swearing in of Redevelop- <br />ment Commissioner, Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, by the City Clerk, Mrs. Irene <br />K. Gammon. <br />Mrs. Gammon administered the oath of office to Mr. Nimtz, and after <br />being duly sworn in as a Commissioner of the South Bend Redevelop- <br />ment Commission, the signatures were affixed and attested to <br />and the City seal placed on all copies of the appointment of Mr. <br />Nimtz to the office of the South Bend Redevelopment Commission. <br />3. ELECTION OF OFFICERS: <br />Commission Legal Counsel, Mr. Sweeney, stated that we now have a <br />full Board of Redevelopment Commissioners. However, as we have a <br />vacancy on the presidency of this Commission, Legal Counsel re- <br />quested Mr. Chenney, as Vice President of the Commission, to open <br />the meeting for nominations for the vacancy of President. <br />. Chenney, as the Acting Chair, requested nominations of officers <br />r the presidency of the Commission. <br />Mr. Wade said he would like to nominate Mr. F. Jay Nimtz, as Presi- <br />dent of the Redevelopment Commission. (Mr. Wade joshingly said <br />that he had read in The South Bend Tribune that Mr. Nimtz already <br />is President of the Commission; however, he, as a Commissioner, <br />was not aware of it). The motion was seconded by Mr. Wiggins and <br />unanimously carried by all Commissioners that Mr. F. Jay Nimtz be <br />the President of the Redevelopment Commission. <br />is customary to have the President at the head of the Conference <br />ble, Mr. Sweeney asked Mr. Nimtz to sit in the President's chair, <br />d preside for the rest of the meeting.
