The Board of Trustees appointed Mr. <br />imtz, as a member of the Redevelopment Commission, yesterday, <br />n the Trustees Special Meeting, to fill the vacancy on the <br />oard of Redevelopment Commissioners with Mr. Fred J. Helmen's <br />esignation effective September 1, 1974 <br />MR. P. JAY NI <br />r. President, as the former President of the Board of Trustees, <br />want to express the deep appreciation and thanks of the Trustees <br />nd the thanks of this community for your sixteen (16) years of <br />ervice on this Board. Your devotion to duty, your interest and <br />ffection for downtown and South Bend has not and cannot be equaled. <br />said yesterday in the Press Conference released here, we want to <br />11 what you have done for this community. South Bend and its <br />ture will always remember what you have done here, Fred, and the <br />ustees wanted me publicly to express to you their thanks and the <br />anks of this community for what you have done for South Bend. <br />u will be missed greatly' <br />(The above tribute to President Helmen followed with the audience applaud - <br />ing and admiration shown for his contribution to the community.) <br />PRESIDENT FRED J.
