IV. RESOLUTION NO. 498 - COMMEMORATING MR. HELMEN'S SERVICES (Cont'd) President Nimtz advised that it would be very appropriate to have a resolution spread on the minutes commending Mr. Helmen on his sixteen years of diligent and continuous services. Motion was made by Mr. Morrison, seconded by Mr. Richardson and unanimously carried that Resolution No. 498 be adopted and spread on the minutes. The Resolution commending Mr. Helmen is as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 498 RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees of the Department of Redevelopment of the City of South Bend, Indiana, accepts with regret the resignation of Fred J. Helmen as a Commissioner of the Department of Re- development. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Trustees extends its thanks and appreciation to Fred J. Helmen for the loyal, unselfish and devoted service he has rendered to the City of South Bend by his nearly sixteen (16) years of membership as a Redevelopment Commissioner. His foresight and vision, his understanding, fairness and enthusiasm in administering the Redevelopment Program, have left a mark in the community that will carry on for the years ahead in South Bend's future. The citizens of today and tomorrow are indebted to Fred J. Helmen for his civic leadership. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolu- tion be spread upon the Minutes of the Board of Trustees and a copy thereof be dispatched to Fred J. Helmen. Adopted this lst day of August, 1974, at the South Bend Redevelopment Trustees Special Meeting, at its office located at 1200 County -City Building, 227 West Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana.
