Rescind Change Order No. l: Commission approval was <br />!sted to rescind Change Order No. 1 to contract with H. <br />f Mechanical Contractors, Inc., for Beck's Lake Secondary <br />i Sewer which was approved in Special Commission Meeting of <br />3, 1974, under "New Business, 6a ", for an increase in con- <br />: amount of $924.00, with no change in time, R -57. <br />Mr. ennon advised in consulting with Mr. DeWulf and Engineer - <br />ing Department staff, they had an agreement with H. DeWulf <br />Mechanical Contractors, Inc., that this would not be charged <br />to o r department. Indiana R -66, Disposition Block 4: Mr. Lennon ad- DISPOSITION BLOCK 4, <br />viseJ we are very pleased to receive the letter dated July 3, EXTENSION OF TIME <br />1974 from Thornburg, McGill, Deahl, Harman, Carey & Murray, GRANTED, R -66 <br />Attorneys at Law, representing Associates Bancorp., Inc., to <br />renew their Letter of Credit, in the amount of $161,498.10. <br />This letter should be received and placed on record. <br />Mr. 4iggins made the motion the letter be received and <br />plat d on file and if his motion is supported, he will com- <br />ment on it. Mr. Wade seconded the motion and said motion was <br />carried unanimously. <br />President Heimen advised that we have had some comments from <br />Asso iates representatives concerning the Indiana University <br />at S uth Bend proposal which has posed some questions as to <br />the ize of the Associates complex, and we figure the communi <br />cati n at their request is justifiable. They have asked for <br />an a tension of time. <br />Mr. 4iggins said it could have a significant effect on the <br />facilities that they plan to construct and will require an <br />exte sion of time for a re-evaluation of the physical plans. <br />It will be a larger building than formerly proposed. We will <br />have a substantial increase in the volume of business in the <br />downtown area. The significant increase in downtown employees <br />will have a very substantial and beneficial impact on our River <br />Bend Plaza. The best growth comes from the expansion of exist- <br />ing usiness. <br />In r ference to a question from Ms. Jeanne Derbeck, President <br />Helm n stated Associates has not changed their plans; they <br />are nlarging on it. Mr. Wiggins said they plan to build their <br />new uilding and further to construct an additional or adjacent <br />buil ing attached to it that would house various other new <br />offi es that would provide office spaces. In the past they <br />were talking about a substantial amount of building. What they <br />6 <br />
