NN BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />i Conference on I Compliance with Government LegiSla- <br />tion n E ual Employment Opportunity: Authorization was <br />requested for our EEO Officer, Mr. Frank Alford, to attend <br />this Conference, on March 11 and 12, 1974, in New York. <br />city. <br />Mr. Lennon advised this will be on a three -way shared cost <br />with the Departments of Community Development, Redevelopment <br />and Human Resources and Economic Development, City of South <br />Bend. They are working on an Affirmative Action Program. <br />CONFERENCE ON <br />COMPLIANCE WITH <br />GOVERNMENT LEGISLA- <br />TION ON EEO, MARCH <br />11 & 12, 1974, <br />NEW YORK CITY <br />j Frederick Hopkins, Jr.: Mr. Lennon advised we had FREDERICK HOPKINS, JR <br />a pub is hearing, Friday, April 19, 1974, on Frederick Hopkins, <br />Jr., and the Commission had requested a recommendation on the <br />salary request of Mr. Frederick Hopkins, Jr. <br />Mr. L nnon said his recommendation to the Commission is that <br />we do not owe Mr. Hopkins any back money and that his re- <br />comme dation is that we do not pay him, as per reasons out- <br />lined in the lengthy public hearing in detail. <br />Mr. L nnon said he has one concern and that on his prior com- <br />ments in the hearing, Mr. Alford stated that Mr. Hopkins was <br />not u ing a Redevelopment car, and in.checking our logs out, <br />it dos show he..was not. Therefore, the one aspect considered <br />in Mr. Lennon's recommendation is that Mr. Hopkins was doing <br />inspe tions for PDAT during employment with the Department of <br />Redev lopment, and, therefore, should not receive additional <br />pay. Mr. Lennon said he is recommending the staffs' recommenda- <br />tion a accepted. <br />On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney and unanimously <br />carried, the Commission concurred in accepting Mr. Lennon's re- <br />commendation that no back pay be awarded Mr. Frederick Hopkins, <br />Jr. <br />7.
