Edward Talley came to
notice an error in the legal description for Ordinance Number
6738-80 . This error was confirmed by the Engineering Department
of the City of South Bend (legal descriptions, maps and documents
previously faxed to City Clerk) , and was an agenda item at the
March meeting of the Historic Preservation Commission.
Briefly stated, the ground described in Ordinance 6738-80 is
actually land situated south of the pumping station, thus leaving
the landmark building and related structures undescribed. The
requested amendment will correct this error and actually bring a
designated legal description to the land which lies beneath the
North Pumping Station and related structures . This legal
description of land is in fact the original land purchased by the
City of South Bend in 1895 for the purpose of creating the Water
Works Department .
1400 County-City Building•South Bend,Indiana 46601 •219/235-9241 •TDD 219/235-5567
Thomas L.
