ORDINANCE NO. 570g- 96 1 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AINEXING TO AND BRINGING WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, CERTAIN LAND IN CLAY TOWNSHIP CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH; PATRICIA J. ADLER STATEMENT QE PURPOSE AWE INTENT A Petition for voluntary annexation of 0 . 99 acres located in Clay Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, has been filled by one-hundred percent (100%) of the owners of land in the territory sought to be annexed. It is the intent and purposed of this Ordinance to annex this territory to the City of South Bend, Indiana. THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION .� That the following described real estate situated in St. Joseph County, Indiana, being contiguous by more than one-eighth (1/8) of its aggregate external boundaries with the present boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and hereby is annexed to and brought within the City of South Bend: A parcel of land located in the west half of the Southwest Quarter of Section 32 . Township 38 North, Range 3 East, Clay Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, and being more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of lot 148 of Maple lane Subdivision; thence North along the West line of said lot to the South line of Lot 146 of said subdivision, also being the north right-of-way line of State Road No. 23; ,thence in a northeasterly direction following said right-of-way line to the southwesterly corner of lot 233 of said subdivision; thence southwesterly to the northwesterly corner of lot 238 of said subdivision; thence south along the west line of said lot and the west lines of lots 241 and 242 of said subdivision to the southwest corner of lot 242 of said subdivision; thence west to the southeast corner of lot 149 of said subdivision; thence west along the south lines of lots 149 and 148 of said subdivision to the point of beginning. SECTION II. That the boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and are hereby declared to be extended so as to include the real estate.jof the above described parcel as a part. of the City of South Bend, Indiana. SECTION II .. That the above described real estate shall be and hereby is assigned to the Fourth Councilmanic District of the City of South Bend, Indiana. SECTION 22, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its enactment, approval by the Mayor, and legal publication.
