SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE NO. 56U-q6 <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br /> CERTAIN TERRITORY CONTIGUOUS THEREWITH <br /> LOCATED IN CENTRE TOWNSHIP, <br /> ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA <br /> (COPPERFIELD ANNEXATION) <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> The Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, has <br /> determined that it is in the best interest of the City of South Bend <br /> to annex and bring within the corporate limits of the City of South <br /> Bend certain territory that is contiguous with the City of South Bend. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br /> OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows : <br /> SECTION I . That the following described real estate <br /> situated in St . Joseph County, Indiana, being contiguous by more than <br /> one-fourth (1/4) of its aggregate external boundaries with the present <br /> boundaries of the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be and hereby is <br /> annexed to and brought within the City of South Bend, Indiana: <br /> A parcel of land located in the NE 1/4 of Section 36 <br /> T.37 N. , R. 2 E. , Centre Township, St . Joseph County, <br /> Indiana, and being more particularly described as <br /> follows : <br /> Commencing at the intersection of the South right <br /> of way line of Johnson Road and the City of South <br /> Bend Corporation Line, being the point of <br /> beginning; thence North to the City of South Bend <br /> Corporation Line; thence West along said line to <br /> the East lot line, extended, of Lot "B" of Hay <br /> Historic Home Site Subdivision; thence North along <br /> the East line of said subdivision to the NE corner <br /> of said lot; thence West along the North line of <br /> said subdivision to the NW corner of said lot; <br /> thence South along the West line of said <br /> subdivision to the NE corner of Lot 1 of <br /> Southland, Section 1 Subdivision; thence following <br /> the North line of said subdivision in a westerly <br /> direction to the NW corner of Lot 4 Southland <br /> Section 1 Subdivision; thence South to the North <br /> right of way line of Johnson Road; thence West to <br /> the Southeast corner of Lot 5; thence North to the <br /> Northeast corner of Lot 5 of said subdivision; <br /> thence West to the Southeast corner of Outlot B <br /> Southland Section 2; thence in a northerly <br /> direction to the NW corner of said Outlot; thence <br /> in a Northerly direction along the East line of <br /> said subdivision to the NE corner of Lot 20; <br /> thence West to the East right of way line of South <br /> Fellows Street; thence North to the Southwest <br /> corner of Lot 21; thence East to the Southeast <br /> corner of Lot 21; thence North to the Northeast <br /> nnrnor �f <br />
