Renderings of Associates Complex, R -66: President ASSOCIATES COMPLEX <br />n inT_r_0cFu_ced Mr. Dick Van Mele, Vice President, Corpo- RENDERINGS, R -66 <br />Community Affairs, Associates Corporation of North <br />ca, and asked for a statement: <br />an Mele: <br />"The document submitted to':the Redevelopment Commission <br />this morning is an addendum to the Bid Proposal made <br />on February 2, 1973, describing more specifically the <br />property to be developed by the Associates Bancorp., Inc., <br />in the South Bend Downtown Development Program. The docu- <br />ment describes each of the parcels, the proposed land use, <br />and the contemplated stages of development. The initial <br />stage of development is proposed to be Parcels 4 -31 and <br />4 -32, after marketable title has been formally transferred <br />to Associates Bancorp., Inc., and as soon as all properties <br />on these two parcels have been completely cleared. <br />'The document submitted today also includes subsequent <br />stages of development describing more specifically the <br />anticipated square footage of the buildings proposed for <br />Parcels 4 -30A, 4 -30B, 4 -42, and 4 -66. A rendering showing <br />the proposed project is also included so that the Commission <br />may have a visual concept of our proposal." <br />Presi ent Helmen asked: "Assuming we can get the title cleared, <br />what �arcel will you start first ?" <br />Mr. Van Mele: "We will commence construction on Parcels 4 -31, <br />4 -32 and North 140 feet of Parcel 4 -1, by December 31, 1973 of <br />this year, assuming marketability title is transferred and 4 -31 <br />and 432 are completely cleared." <br />- 4 - <br />
