rn
NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd
Mr. Lennon said based on Block 6, twenty (20) acres
imme iately south of the Civic Center, was originally
sche uled for housing 1,000 units or more. There was a
chance in economic benefits and we had an updated LUMS
Stud 3. It was determined this was not a feasible plan
and will not work out. It was suggested the land use be
chanced to Service /Commercial /Residential. The number of
resi ential units should be revised up to 200 units.
Mr. lerry Miller asked if that requires more housing in
anot er area? Mr. Lennon said: "No. This is the mini-
mum ousing requirements or replacement housing require-
ments in the Downtown Renewal Program. The Proxmire Amend-
ment is not involved."
On m tion by Mr. Wade, seconded by Mr. Wiggins and unani-
mously carried, the changes, as noted, to the Downtown
Urba Renewal Plan, R -66, were authorized.
v. Bids for Outdoor Advertising Sign: Sealed bids
were received for the building, including fabrication, in-
stallation, lighting and electrical service, for a standard
14' 48' painted bulletin for Burkhart Advertising, to be
located at 429 South Main Street. This outdoor advertising
sign replaces in- project sign located on Parcel No. 17 -1,
R -66. The sign on Parcel No. 17 -1 was east of Columbia
and cur relocation function is that we accept bids for that
work. The HUD ruling is that we do not relocate for more
than the cost of the sign. We relocated his business.
The Lids received are:
Adway Signs, Inc. $ 8,863.00
Naegele Outdoor Advertising
Company, Inc. 10,480.00
Mr. Miller said this is simply a compliance of HUD regula-
tions that we go through bid process. We pay no more than
lowest bid. Burkhart Advertising can get anyone he wants
to do the work. The old sign was moved and destroyed.
This bid is to build a new one to replace it. We are pay-
ing Jor the relocation, not for an actual new sign.
On motion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Wade and unani-
mously carried, the low bid by Adway Signs, Inc., in bid
amount of $8,863.00, be accepted, subject to Legal Counsel
approval.
prove
devel
for F
Proje
OUTDOOR ADVERTISING
SIGN BID FROM ADWAY
SIGNS, INC.
