6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont`d)
to comply with the restrictions or to meet the require-
ments of the provisions. The HUD Area Office has reviewed
and approved the suspension of the provisions, shown in
Mr. tephen J. Havens letter of October 17, 1972.
Commission approval was requested to enter into the Adden-
dum Agreement with Royal Inns, which suspends the provi-
sions.
On motion by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Wade and unani-
mous y carried, the President and Secretary were authorized
to e ter into an Addendum Agreement to Contract for Sale
of Land for Private Development with Royal Inns of America,
Inc. Disposition Parcel No. 7 -1.
1. Resolution No. 432: Mr. Butler advised that RESOLUTION NO. 432
Reso ution No. 413, adopted on July 21, 1972 by Commis- ADOPTED, R -66
sion authorized the issuance of Redevelopment District
Bond of 1972, in total amount of $3,800,000.00. Within
that resolution, the Commission specified publication in
two pewspapers for two consecutive weeks. The statutory
requirement is one publication in two newspapers and we
had intended to have one additional publication to the
statutory requirement. The original date for awarding
the bids was set for December 6th. We subsequently
tear ed over billion dollars worth of bonds were on
the market for that day. The recommendation was that
we change our date to December 4, which we did. One
publication re- appeared in newspapers. The request now
is t amend the two publication requirement and provide
for only one publication for the notice.
On m tion by Mr. Chenney, seconded by Mr. Wiggins and
unan mously carried, Resolution No. 432 was adopted
whic amends Resolution No. 413.
Contract No. 28: Authorization was requested CONTRACT NO. 28
to e ter into this contract for party wall repairs to AWARDED TO: JULIUS
Newm n's Apparel Shop, South Wall, and Osco Drugs, North O'NEAL TRUCKING CO.,
Wall in an amount not to exceed $2,700.00, R -66. R -66
Mr. aylor advised we tore down the building in between
the two and left the party walls exposed to the elements.
Legality would be questionable on the rights and responsi-
bility of the parties and the legal fees would be costly.
Four
Thu r!
four
conti
from
(4) invitations to bid were mailed, with bid opening
day, November 2, 1972, at 10:00 A.M. None of the
contractors submitted bids. In contacting other
actors, we received a proposed bid of $2,700.00
Julius O'Neal Trucking Company.
B&OJE
