Mr. McGill represents
an inve for or investor group that is willing to submit
a bid tc purchase Block 6 of approximately 976,875 square
feet (2 ( acres) in the Downtown Urban Renewal Area subject
to observations set forth in the letter. The one stipula-
tion is the investor group would submit such bid on the
basis o a mutually satisfactory purchase price if Block
6 could be purchased in its entirety, and not merely a
part thereof. The proposed uses were outlined. Block 6
was sta ed to be used for office, parking and residential
purpose and commencement of construction would occur
within our years after the purchase of the real estate.
Mr. Taylor said this is another extremely important land-
mark and is the largest block the Commission has to offer,
approximately 20 acres, in the Downtown Renewal Program.
In the original application, the North area was appraised
for office use and the South area for housing. Now it
would be for mixed use and the boundary cannot be defined.
On the basis of their interest, the first step is to have
7
HUD CONCURRENCE,
DEMOLITION CONTRACT
NO. 1, MERRY AVENUE
PROJECT
APPROVED AND REVISED
BUDGETS, E -3 & E -5
LETTER OF INTENT
TO PURCHASE BLOCK 6
R -66
