4. OOMMUNICATIONS <br />z. HUD letter dated September 13, 1972: This <br />letter, over the signature of Mr. Stephen J. Havens, <br />Director, Operations Division, advised they are re- <br />turning our E -6 Code Enforcement application, the <br />Neig borhood Development Program application and <br />both the E -3 and E -5 S -1 relocation amendatories. <br />The ode Enforcement Program could not be funded <br />and he Area Office is anticipating receipt of a <br />revi ed NDP application. <br />Mr. laylor said the Code Enforcement Programs are <br />out; that is the reason the E -6 application was not <br />fund d. The E -3 and E -5 S -1 Amendatories were in- <br />corp rated in the E -3 and E -5 Amendatories which were <br />approved by HUD July 12, 1972. The NDP program has <br />been resubmitted. <br />L. HUD letter dated September 20, 1972: This <br />letter, over the signature of Mr. Stephen J. Havens, <br />Director, Operations Division, advises approval of <br />Non-(ash Grant -in -Aid, in amount of $11,791.00, for <br />Polk Court. <br />Polk Court, an alley -type drive running South from <br />Colfax Avenue between Main and Michigan Streets <br />term nating at Columbus Court (Allen's Alley), <br />provides continuity of access to the Municipal Park- <br />ing Garage and to the neighboring businesses. <br />5. OLD BUSINESS <br />one. <br />6. NEW BUSINESS <br />Demolition Contract No. 29: Authorization to <br />advertise for Demolition Contract No. 29 was received in <br />Commission Meeting of August 18, 1972. Advertisement ap- <br />peared in The South Bend Tribune, on August 25, September <br />1, 6 and 13, 1972; Tri- County News, on August 25 and <br />September 1, 1972; and in The Reformer, on September 24, <br />1972 Bid opening date was October 4, 1972, at 1:00 P.M., <br />E.S. ., with five (5) firms submitting bids out of nine <br />(9) fi rms receiving bid documents.
