4. <br />ICATIONS (Cont'd <br />c. HUD letter dated June 23, 1972: This letter is <br />over the signature of Mr. Stephen J. Havens, Director, <br />Operations Division, advising Certificate of Non -Cash <br />Local Grant -in -Aid is approved in amount of $329,418 for <br />the L Salle Park Recreation Center located immediately <br />North of the North Central interior boundary line and <br />East f the West interior boundary. <br />d. Northern Indiana Historical Society letter dated <br />June 0: Mr. Jack J. Detzler, President, submitted a <br />reso uTion adopted by their Board of Directors at its <br />regular meeting on June 19, 1972, in which they request <br />the section relating to the use of the land north of and <br />adjoining the Northern Indiana Historical Society Museum <br />(Southeast corner of Washington and Lafayette Boulevard) <br />be altered, when we submit for Federal approval an amend- <br />ment to the present downtown renewal plan. <br />At some future time the Society may wish to enlarge its <br />facilities with a structure below or perhaps partially <br />above ground on the property owned by St. Joseph County <br />immediately north of the Museum. <br />On mo ion by Mr. Wiggins, seconded by Mr. Chenney, the <br />above matter is to be taken under review. Merry Avenue Project Contract: Mr. Taylor ex- <br />plained this is a standard form contract whereby the De- <br />partment of Redevelopment will become administrator of <br />the Merry Avenue Renewal Project.
