Demolition Contract No. 25: Mr. Taylor reviewed the <br />tory of the bidding and Commission approval of award of this <br />tract — including Alternates A and B - to Midwest Demolition, <br />h award approval at Commission meeting of April 7, 1972. <br />contract was awarded to Midwest on the basis of their over - <br />low bid of $39,074.00. We then requested HUD concurrence in <br />etter which outlined the bids submitted by the two low bidders, <br />vest Demolition and the next lowest bidder, Howell Construction <br />pany of Elkhart, Indiana, with a bid of $53,315.55. We did not <br />4 bid submitted by Julius O'Neal Trucking Co. since he did not <br />on Alternate "A" and it was therefore impossible to compare <br />bid with the other two. Letter was received from HUD dated <br />it 24, 1972, concurring in award to Julius O'Neal on the basis <br />his bid of $25,200 on Contract 25 and $11,983 for Alternate "B" <br />was the HUD Area Office contention that Midwest could not do <br />job for the amount of their bid on Alternates "A" and "B ". <br />Taylor then recommended to the Commission that the entire <br />tract 25 be rebid. Alternates "A" and "B" are to be grouped <br />ether and bid under another contract. <br />ADVERTISING <br />APPROVED FOR <br />REBIDDING <br />CONTRACT NO.25 <br />On motion by Mr. Chenney, seconded by Mr. Wiggins, approval to <br />re bid Contract 25 was given and motion carried unanimously..... <br />b. Demolition and Site Clearance Contract No. 6, IND. R -57: DEMOLITION & <br />Authorization requested to award Contract No. 6, IND R -57 for SITE CLEARANCE <br />De olition and Site Clearance, LaSalle Park Project, to B & J CONTRACT NO. 6 <br />De olition, 408 E. Ohio Street, South Bend, based on low bid of IND. R -57 <br />$3,186.00, subject to HUD concurrence. <br />Ad ertisement appeared in The South Bend Tribune April 14th and <br />21st and the Tri County News the same dates.
