6. NEW BUSINESS (Cont'd <br />T_ <br />Mr. Wiggins moved for approval of the above grants, se- <br />condel by Mr. Chenney and unanimously carried. <br />c. Resolution No. 395: This Resolution authorizes <br />the ftnation of certain improvements (excavation of soil), <br />as a ion-cash grant-in-aid to the LaSalle Park Urbar Re- <br />newal Protect, Indiana R-57. The muck -type soil is un- <br />Q y <br />buildable soil requiring excavation and. refilling for <br />const,uction of the multi-family dwelling unit. <br />Mr. Wiggins moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 395, <br />seconled by Rev. Williams and unanimously carried. <br />1. Resolution No. 396: This Resolution authorizes <br />the d)nation of certain improvements (extension of streets), <br />as a ion-cash grant-in-aid to the LaSalle Park Urban Re- <br />newal Project, Indiana R-57. The Urban Renewal Plan was <br />such that certain streets within the project were to be <br />recon;tructed and in the process new finish grade level <br />becam? mandatory. The new grade level mandated the ex- <br />tensi)n of the streets at grade level to a point of logi- <br />cal c)nclusion and to extend certain streets beyond the <br />proje:t area boundary to point of logical conclusion. <br />Mr. W ggins moved for the adoption of Resolution No. <br />395, econded by Mr. Chenney and unanimously carried. <br />n. Joint NAHRO and Downtown Conference: Authori- <br />zatioi was requested to send four (4 -staff members <br />and a Commission members wishing to attend the North <br />Central Regional Council NAHRO Annual Conference which <br />will )e held in conjunction with the National Downtown <br />and T)wn Centers Conference, in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May <br />14 th-ough 17, 1972. The fee to attend both conferences <br />is $55.00 per NAHRO member, <br />Mr. Wiggins said he would like to attend. A canvass of <br />the Commission is to be made if the dates may coincide <br />with their schedules and they may or want to attend. <br />On motion by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr. Wiggins, <br />authorization for staff and Commission, as shown above, <br />was g,anted. Motion unanimously carried. <br />fi. National Association of Minority Contractors <br />Conference: Authorization was requested for a staff <br />membe- to attend the National Association of Minority <br />Contractors Conference, in Chicago, April 11 through 15, <br />1972. Mr. Taylor requested.Mr. Frank Alford, our EEO <br />Officer, be authorized to attend this Conference. The <br />registration fee is $100.00.
