7. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd <br />Mr. Ashen elter advised no decisions were made in this <br />meeting and the Environmental firm is to come up with <br />some recommendation. <br />b. Business Relocation, R -66: Mr. Paul E. Becher BUSINESS RELOCATION, <br />Commercial Relocation Director, submitted a written report R - -66 <br />advising there are two relocation claims for moving expenses <br />before the Commission totalling $9,301.00, and two direct <br />loss of property claims totalling $3,525.10 - -total of all <br />claims is 12,826.10. <br />Approximat ly five additional businesses are expected to <br />complete their relocation before January 1, 1972. The re- <br />mainder of the workload consists primarily of Michigan and <br />Washington Street merchants included in the Mall area. <br />c. D wntown Rehabilitation Report, R -66: Mr. Edwin DOWNTOWN REHABILITATION <br />Bauer, Dow town Rehabilitation Supervisor, submitted a REPORT, R -66 <br />written re )ort advising priority emphasis is being directed <br />to Mall ac ivity on a newly projected block - parcel basis as <br />outlined b our consultants, Community Development Associates. <br />Form guidelines for development of Mall completion dates for <br />individual tenant - owners will be conducted according to new <br />scheduling A total of 83 structures now comprise the re- <br />view file that forms the urban core. <br />There appe rs to be currently a greater interest in develop- <br />ing some 1 ng- standing vacant properties as evidenced in <br />recent wee s by inquiries received. Mr. Bauer stated we <br />have benefited by some news media releases which have <br />spurred ac ivity along identification lines, focusing <br />attention n sign criteria for the proposed Mall. Community <br />participat on is an important ingredient in promoting a <br />successful Mall venture. <br />d. Rehabilitation Report, Site Offices: Mr. Richard <br />A. Madison Rehabilitation Director, in his written report <br />advised: <br />R -57 Project: <br />Two re-inspections, four final inspections, and <br />five progress inspections were made by our staff <br />in this project. Reservations have been made for <br />fundi g of six loans. <br />-3 Project: <br />Eight initial inspections and six re- inspections <br />were made by staff. Five owner rehabilitations <br />have been completed.
