Mr. Slabaugh advised staff <br />was riot aware the fill was in under the railroad site and <br />part of the old Birdsell building that was covered u`p with <br />gravel. Mr. Slabaugh suggested we get borings made on <br />future contracts. In the past we were inspecting excava <br />tion sites. We are finding large chunks of concrete under <br />the streets, parts of walls. Test borings are ordered <br />under St. Joseph Street as well as under the wall. The <br />ones under the wall turned out well. He said we have to <br />be sure we do not put pavement on something that w4ll not <br />support it. <br />Mr. iggins said he believed there are a lot of historical <br />site we will find under the surface.
