^ .F <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3i- <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br /> AMENDING SECTION 6-7. 1 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> CONCERNING THE DESIGNATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT DESIGN <br /> ADMINISTRATOR <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> Section 6-7 . 1 of the South Bend Municipal Code provides <br /> that the Director of Redevelopment for the City of South Bend shall <br /> be the Development Design Administrator for purposes of carrying <br /> out development design review as provided in Chapter 6 of the South <br /> Bend Municipal Code. The Common Council has recently provided for <br /> the creation of and funding for the position of Assistant Building <br /> Commissioner, Design Plan & Review Specialist. It is contemplated <br /> that the individual employed by the City of South Bend as its <br /> Assistant Building Commissioner, Design Plan & Review Specialist <br /> will have the requisite skills, training and experience to perform <br /> the functions of the Development Design Administrator. The Common <br /> Council has determined that it is therefore advisable to amend <br /> Section 6-7 . 1 of the South Bend Municipal Code accordingly. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br /> SECTION I. Section 6-7.1 (c) of the South Bend Municipal <br /> Code shall be and hereby is amended as follows: <br /> Sec. 6-7 . 1 . Development Design Review Committee. <br /> * * * * <br /> (c) To further the purposes of this article, the <br /> Director of R nt Assistant Building Commissioner, <br /> Design Plan & Review Specialist of the City of South Bend is <br /> designated the Development Design Administrator for purposes <br /> of carrying out development design review as contemplated <br /> herein. The Development Design Administrator shall have the <br /> following powers: <br /> (1) To review and to approve, modify, or disapprove <br /> applications for work on any building, structure, or other <br /> real property or appurtenances within a development design <br /> area; provided, however, that such review and action shall <br /> relate only to compliance or non-compliance of the proposed <br /> work with design guidelines for the specific development <br /> design area adopted by reference at section 6-7, herein. <br /> (2) To recommend to the Development Design <br /> Committee such rules and procedures as are necessary or <br /> convenient for carrying out the purposes of this article. <br /> SECTION II . This ordinance shall be in full force and <br /> effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and <br /> approval by the Mayor. <br />
