^ .F ORDINANCE NO. 3i- AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING SECTION 6-7. 1 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE DESIGNATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT DESIGN ADMINISTRATOR OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT Section 6-7 . 1 of the South Bend Municipal Code provides that the Director of Redevelopment for the City of South Bend shall be the Development Design Administrator for purposes of carrying out development design review as provided in Chapter 6 of the South Bend Municipal Code. The Common Council has recently provided for the creation of and funding for the position of Assistant Building Commissioner, Design Plan & Review Specialist. It is contemplated that the individual employed by the City of South Bend as its Assistant Building Commissioner, Design Plan & Review Specialist will have the requisite skills, training and experience to perform the functions of the Development Design Administrator. The Common Council has determined that it is therefore advisable to amend Section 6-7 . 1 of the South Bend Municipal Code accordingly. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: SECTION I. Section 6-7.1 (c) of the South Bend Municipal Code shall be and hereby is amended as follows: Sec. 6-7 . 1 . Development Design Review Committee. * * * * (c) To further the purposes of this article, the Director of R nt Assistant Building Commissioner, Design Plan & Review Specialist of the City of South Bend is designated the Development Design Administrator for purposes of carrying out development design review as contemplated herein. The Development Design Administrator shall have the following powers: (1) To review and to approve, modify, or disapprove applications for work on any building, structure, or other real property or appurtenances within a development design area; provided, however, that such review and action shall relate only to compliance or non-compliance of the proposed work with design guidelines for the specific development design area adopted by reference at section 6-7, herein. (2) To recommend to the Development Design Committee such rules and procedures as are necessary or convenient for carrying out the purposes of this article. SECTION II . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
