CONTRACT <br />APPROVED, PROJECT E -3 <br />d Northeast and Southeast Projects: Mr. Helmen NORTHEAST AND SOUTHEAST <br />raised questions on the Northeast and Southeast Project PROJECTS <br />fundin . <br />Mr. Ba be advised approval has been received for the <br />first ear's cost of the Northeast Project, which had <br />been stibmitted to HUD in November, 1969. The HUD office, <br />after my 1, will no longer fund Survey .and .Planning <br />applications and has suggested that we.apply for incre- <br />mental funding similar to the NDP Project originally <br />planned for the area. This might be accomplished through <br />cooperation with Model Cities. Mr. Barbe explained the <br />Northeast Code Enforcement Project involves very little <br />renewa work and there is no acquisition involved, while <br />the So theast General Neighborhood Renewal Plan is a <br />straig t urban renewal rehabilitation project, similar <br />to the LaSalle Park Project. <br />-5- <br />
