AMENDMENT NUMBER I TO OWNER -ENGINEER AGREEMENT <br />1. Background Data: <br />a. Effective Date of Owner -Engineer Agreement: Au st 27, 2019 <br />b. Owner: Board of Public Works, City of South Bend, Indiana <br />C. Engineer: American Structurepoint, Inc. <br />d. Project: Poppy Street Lift Station Force Main Repair <br />2. Nature of Amendment <br />X Additional Services to be performed by Engineer <br />X Modifications to Payment to Engineer <br />3. Description of Modifications: <br />a. The backwater valves on CSO 003 have failed and allow river water to enter the <br />sewer. <br />1) Research backwater valves that can be installed in the existing structure and <br />can prevent the 500 year flood elevation from backing into the existing sewer <br />system. Assume that the largest storm from the typical year is the flow that <br />must pass the valves. Provide recommendations on which valve best suits the <br />City's goals. Review valve alternatives with City staff. Finalize selection of <br />valve. <br />2) Determine the structural support required for the selected valve. <br />3) Develop installation plans and specifications to be used to quote the <br />installation of the new valves. <br />b. Life Cycle Analysis of Developer Provided Lift Stations <br />1) Develop a methodology for developers to use to justify the construction of <br />lift stations which will only serve the proposed development. <br />2) The life cycle analysis shall include: <br />a) How the capital cost for the lift station and force main as well as the off - <br />site gravity sewer which could be installed instead of the lift station <br />should be calculated. <br />b) Operation and Maintenance tasks associated with the lift station as well <br />as gravity sewer. <br />201801884 Amendment 1 <br />
