Aveneu <br />and the Saint Joseph. River in the third Plr,,t of Shatterly Plaee,by striking <br />out the words(City of South Bend);so that we can sign a waiver and avail <br />oursselves of the ten year plan of paying the assessments for said improvement, <br />Resolved, that the foregoing petition be allowed with the following aggreement <br />for said improvement . attached.. to the waiver. <br />It is expressly agreed by and between the City of South Bend, Indiana and the <br />prat -or parties signing this waiver that the aceptance of this waiver by the <br />City of South Bend, indiand shall in no way change or nodify the title or <br />ownership of the property so assessed. <br />Signed <br />Resolved, that the Assistant Engineers, W. E. Graves mid F. A. Anderson salaries <br />be made $4.50 per day. The Engineers Clerk $3.50 per day. Salaries to begin <br />January lst, 1910. <br />Resolved that the following Rules pertaining to the collection of Garbage be approved <br />and 5oo cards ordered printed and given to citizens. <br />#I Garbage collectors will be required to collect the kitchen garbage from private <br />.private resistances only. Saloons,Hotels, etc. must provide for the removalof <br />the garbage from their premises. <br />#2 All kitchen garbage should be placed in suitable vessels(preferable constructed <br />of wood and lined with galvanized iron) not to exceed ten gallons capacity, <br />and provided with a covering to keep out rain and.snow. <br />.#3 All garbage must be drained before being put in vessels. If tin cans,broken <br />dishes, or any other like matterials found among the kitchen garbage,.the <br />collectors must refuse.to take it, and it must be removed by tenants of the premises. <br />.#4 All garbage must be kept in an alley ,or if kept in side of fence or barn,must be <br />easily accessiable to collectors from the alley. The collectors will not be-, <br />required to carry the garbage,nor to go up stirs nor into basements for garbage. <br />#5 During freezing weather all garbage should be drained and wrapped in paper,and <br />placed in garbage cans,in order that.it may be removed therefrom without <br />difficulty, and without injury ng the can. <br />#6 Complaints for dereliction of duty on the part of garbage collectors are to be <br />filed in the off ace of the Board of Public Works. <br />Telephones: Home,#361 or #325: Bell, #596: <br />#7 Remember that the prompt and successful collection of garbage depends upon <br />the strict observance of these rules. <br />By order of the Board of Public Works <br />p77 71i��+ <br />
