INDIANA UNIVERSITY SOUTH BEND <br />Jeff Jones stated that IUSB will open on August 27th and they had 8000+ students <br />enrolled for this year. They also have 88 beds available for student housing. The old <br />Associates building on campus is being rehabbed and will open in March 2013. <br />INDIANA UNIVERSITY MEDICAL SCHOOL <br />Gail Mancini stated that currently that have two (2) classes going on and IU students <br />might want to attend the B100 Block party as well. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />Linda Sokol stated that she represents ADT security services and was available to help <br />with any security matters the students or landlords might have. <br />Ann -Carol Nash stated that the St. Joseph Regional Airport is conducting a Mystery <br />Rider Program. Contact person is Sandy Schick (574.282.4590 x229) She is requesting <br />that people who take a taxi to or from the airport fill out a survey on their experiences. <br />There is a $15 payment, plus fare to be paid if someone is willing to do the paperwork <br />on this. <br />Jeff Walters stated that South Bend Police Department met with the student <br />government to reinforce safety for the new school year. Sheriff Grzegorek stated that <br />that alcohol laws were discussed and passed out along with the noise ordinances. Brett <br />Rocheleau stated that a large email about the good neighbor program, safety, noise and <br />alcohol ordinances and will be distributed to their student body next Thursday. <br />Mark Kramer stated that a large number of students stayed in his housing over the <br />summer and that there was very little crime. One air conditioning unit that was stolen <br />was all that he knew of. He requested that Notre Dame supply him with the Good <br />Neighbor Guides to distribute to his student tenants. <br />Dick Nussbaum has been attending CCAC for approximately five (5) years. It started <br />with a great concern over the neighborhoods, and he has seen it come a long way and <br />it has been a very successful quasi- committee. <br />Marguerite Taylor stated that CCAC started out in crisis mode but has now is a great <br />communication tool. She stated that neighbor, Matt Costello, who usually attends the <br />CCAC meetings but was not in attendance today wanted the committee to know that the <br />end of last year's school year was good and the summer was too. Marguerite added <br />that she lives on Corby near Notre Dame and Hill and there are lots of students living in <br />this area and they are respectful. Marguerite wanted to clear up some false rumors that <br />Perley school was being sold and the Robinson Center was being re- located there. She <br />
