Harris in circa 1895 on the site of an older commercial building_ Harris ran a grnce in rhlc building for 55 years. He was married to Carrie M. Service. dauc.hter of Jeremiah Service, a pmminant pion er of the area and a wealthy businessman After Mr. Harris ' death in 1,g35 Mrs Harris snld it to Wilhlir and Margaret Taylor who also raA a successful grocery for 24 years. The buildinq was subsequently sold to Dorothy Mason and then to Frank & Nance Battman. The current owner is Patricia Hankins who is rentinc the first floor to RalDh' s BSlkery. The building' s facade has been altered since its construction with the aoplication of pressed metal sheets in a brick Pattern over the oriainal decorative round pilasters that flanked the windows on the second floor and the removal of a triangular pediment above the cornice line with Harris ' name on it .
