Michigan Street was constructed by George H. Service in 1g75_ <br /> It is architecturally the most significant Italianate stvle house on W. Michigan Street near the dnwn- <br /> town area, and the Services were one of the most prominent families in New Carlisle in the 1880' s. Jeremiah <br /> Service, his father, built his house the same year on the East side of town. George Service lived here until <br /> 1900 when the house was sold to William H. Hews. Hews livid here until 1905 spllinv it to John Davis who in <br /> turn sold it to Edgar Woolman in 1914.
