Michigan Street, the larger brick Italianate style <br /> house next door to his dauqhter' s house, <br /> Dr_ i Pph Davis was horn in JR35 in County. At the age of 22 he baclan a medical <br /> apprenticeship and in 1858 he began study-at the University of Mirhiq;;n, Ann Arbor. In 1860, he <br /> graduated from Western Reserve Colle4e of Medicine and Suraery in Cleveland, Ohio.---2__y-ear.s_..later_hP <br /> moved to New Carlisle where he began a medi,-,al Dractia which lasted nearly I century. Dr. Davis <br /> was also an avid investor in property and by 1897 owned in addition to his property in New Carlisle <br /> 7 farms in St. Joseph County and Marshall County as well as in Michigan.
