R -57. This is for our <br />Amen <br />atory No. 3, and the grant increase is to <br />defr <br />increase in cost submitted a year ago. <br />Mr. <br />ellinger apprised this is to cover the <br />pers <br />nnel and administrative costs in the La- <br />Sall <br />Park Program. Previously, our staff con- <br />sisted <br />of one inspector and one financial ad- <br />visor <br />for the rehabilitation of 300 properties, <br />and the <br />additional grant is to correct the over- <br />load <br />on the staff and provide an adequate staff <br />to carry <br />out the work. <br />c. The Program involved 39 youths for the <br />summer in the maintenance of approximately 159 <br />lots, plus two mini parks, which entailed the <br />cutti g of weeds and racking. Mr. Bellinger ap- <br />prisel that these were summer jobs for youths, in <br />which a portion of their earnings are placed in <br />individual saving's accounts. The youngsters did <br />an ex ellent job in the project and the staff is <br />more leased with the work performance this year <br />than he previous year.
