Anyone can become <br />a tena tin the Greater South Bead Housing Corpora - <br />tion, f they are willing and financially able :to <br />pay th full amount of rent; which is $136 per <br />month. The door is wide "open -to anyone who has the <br />money. Supplement payments, however, depend on the <br />individual's income. <br />Presid nt Wiggins stated he. has attended�sdme'of <br />the me tings of The Housing Authority, another: time <br />met th Rabbi, and the membemJeel.if:we could <br />have s me joint meetings, on occasion, each other's <br />problems could be explored, as these are-interrelated. <br />Rev. Williams stated that this was a. good idea. Many <br />residents believe they have.not been :treated fairly, <br />discrimination in amounts paid in rent subsidies, and <br />do not come in the office to getfactual information" <br />as they feel they will not =be treated justly. Kirk apprised the regulations for the Rent RENT SUPPLEMENT <br />Supplement Program, FHA No. 2504, are as follows. PROGRAM :REGULATIONS <br />"The law provides that a tenant must meet certain <br />eligibility tests - before he can receive rent <br />supplement: <br />"l. His income must be within the income group <br />served by public housing. <br />11`2. -He must qualify under one of the following <br />.categories: <br />a. Must be displaced by governmental <br />action, such as urban renewal, code <br />enforcements, highway developments, <br />etc. <br />b. Either he or his spousemust be 62 <br />years of age, or older. <br />C. Either he or his spouse must be <br />physically handicapped. <br />d.
