6. PROGRESS REPORTS (Cont'd <br />b. Replacement Housing Payment: The replacement <br />housinc payment will help our staff to some extent in <br />reloca ing some of these families. Rev. Kirk stated <br />our si a representative, Mrs. Joan Otto, who had visited <br />our si a office last week was well pleased with the <br />progre s our staff was making on rehabilitation and re- <br />locati n. She was also pleased that all area residents <br />and th se relocated have received registered letters in- <br />formin them of the Replacement Housing Payment. Re- <br />sponse has been received from 14 individuals in LaSalle <br />Park, -57; and 27 in Industrial Expansion Project, R -56. <br />Mrs. Janet Allen asked what the relative size is of the <br />remaining families? Rev. Kirk said they vary from two <br />to six member families. President Wiggins said that <br />Rev. K rk has done a commendable job and he deserves to <br />be com limented. <br />c.� Questions & Answers: <br />Mrs. Maager asked the progress report on the <br />DowntJ ne suit? Mr. Bruce C. Hammerschmidt, Legal <br />Counse , said the status is the same as the last <br />time h talked to Mrs. Maager. It is still under <br />invest gation. We have filed and the suit is in <br />litiga ion. <br />Mr. Helmen asked when we are going to move to the <br />County City building? Mr. Bellinger apprised that <br />the exact date is not known. Probably not before <br />the end of the year. <br />Mrs. Guy P. Curtis introduced Mrs. Betty Stephens, <br />Director of Relocation, Community Public Service, <br />Newark New Jersey. Mrs. Stephens is formerly <br />from South Bend, is working on relocation problems <br />in Newark and is doing a fine job. Mrs. Curtis <br />said: "We are very proud of her." <br />7. NEXT MEETING <br />Th next regular meeting of the Redevelopment <br />Commis ion will be at 10:30 A. M., Friday, June <br />20, 19 9, in the Office of the Department of Re- <br />develo ent. <br />8. <br />The Chair entertained a motion for adjournment, <br />and motion duly made by Mr. Chenney, seconded by <br />Mr. Wilhelm, and unanimously approved.
