S. <br />a. Option Agreement for Purchase of Parcel <br />No. 43-9, in the LaSalle Park Urban Renewal Project., <br />R -S7. On motion by Rev. Williams, seconded by Mr'. <br />Helme , authorization was granted for the acceptance <br />of th Option Agreement, in the amount of $2,S4S.00, <br />and t e President to execute the document. <br />R1 <br />OPTION AGREEMENT, <br />PARCEL NO. 43 -9, <br />LASALLE PARK <br />URBAN RENEWAL <br />PROJECT, R -57 <br />a. The Commission was apprised that the staff PROGRESS REPORTS <br />is following their directive and is proceeding with <br />plans to acquire and rehabilitate a property in the <br />LaSalle Park Urban Renewal Project, to be used for a <br />site affice and related work activities. <br />b. Mr. Charlie Maxwell, Rehabilitation <br />Offic r, explained some of the functions of the <br />Rehabilitation Department and indicated the momentum <br />of rehabilitation work is being maintained at a high <br />level. He pointed out that the Rehabilitation Staff <br />is at a check -point procedure and new inspections <br />shoull begin shortly. <br />President Wiggins stated that he recently <br />has t ured the LaSalle Park Urban Renewal Project <br />area ind found that substantial progress in the <br />area f rehabilitation has been made. He indicated, <br />in hi3 judgment, the Rehabilitation Staff is entitled <br />to a Treat deal of credit for the fine job being done. <br />He st ted it would be worthwhile for others to make <br />a tou of the area and to see for themselves the sub- <br />stantial change that has taken place since the begin- <br />ning Of the renewal project. <br />Mrs. Ray Witherspoon of the Urban League <br />requested that the staff provide her with as much <br />information as possible on the loans and grants for <br />rehabilitation work currently available. <br />Mrs. Guy P. Curtis asked to be brought up <br />to date on the relocation programs. Mr. Bellinger <br />stated that the relocation is moving satisfactorily <br />along with several relocation hardships being solved <br />in the last week or two. <br />one a <br />under <br />worki <br />can a <br />Rev.
